Linda S. LaBrie launched LaBrie Consulting in July of 2000, following 27 years of successful executive management and leadership experience in legal marketing, financial services and higher education.
During the l990’s, she held the chief marketer positions for two law firms – a regional firm with offices throughout the east coast and a Boston-based firm. She effectively developed and implemented the strategic and tactical initiatives that helped define and capture each firm’s unique marketplace position. A recognized change agent, she built the requisite marketing infrastructure and service and sales culture to achieve excellence in satisfying clients, deepening relationships and winning new business.
She launched a client satisfaction/loyalty program at Edwards & Angell LLP, one of few such programs in the industry at the time, and personally conducted over 150 key client interviews. For Goulston & Storrs, she orchestrated the firm’s re-positioning in the marketplace from real estate boutique to full service firm through a comprehensive, first-ever brand identity program.
Prior to joining the legal marketing industry, Linda was Assistant Professor of Marketing at Rhode Island College and a Consultant for King Chapman Broussard & Gallagher, a national corporate outplacement organization.
Throughout the l980’s, Linda worked in financial services, ending her career as the Division Head/Vice President of Retail Services and Marketing for one of the largest community banks in Rhode Island. She began her banking career at Fleet Bank (now Bank of America) as a Senior Management Trainer, where she designed and delivered corporate-wide training programs and spearheaded the development of the company’s Employee Assistance Program. She moved on to accept the position of Vice President, Marketing and Personnel, of a mutual savings and loan in Connecticut where she managed the marketing, personnel/training and retail banking operations and staff.
Immediately following graduate school, Linda became the Director of Placement and Counselor for Dean Junior College in Massachusetts. With her husband, David, she also served as Dormitory Directors for three years. She was promoted to Director of Counseling and Career Development, managing the entire psychological, career, college transfer and employment counseling function and staff. Linda also served on the faculty of the Social Studies and Continuing Education Departments.
Leadership and Professional Affiliations
From 1999-2001, Linda was an elected Member-at-Large of the National Board of Directors, Legal Marketing Association (LMA). She became the first Chair (1998-2000) of the newly created National Research Committee and maintained an active leadership role on the Committee through 2007. Linda also served as Treasurer of the New England Chapter of LMA in 1993-94.
Other professional affiliations have included Association for Accounting Management, American Marketing Association, Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, Market Research Association, The Boston Club and various Banking, Higher Education and Training and Development organizations.
